Turn a Creative Treatment into a Production Approval
Translate a treatment into an approval record that connects each visual reference to its intention, production method, constraint and decision owner.

Extract the decisions hidden in the treatment
A treatment can communicate mood and ambition without defining what has actually been approved. List the decisions it implies: location character, casting direction, product behaviour, camera language, lighting, pace, performance, art direction and finishing.
Connect every reference to an intention
A reference image should answer a question. Write what the client is approving in it and what remains illustrative. This prevents a later assumption that every object, colour or location detail in a reference was promised.
Add the production method
For each key moment, state whether it will be captured, built, composited or generated, and identify the test or reference needed. The method should serve the idea and the required level of product and brand accuracy.
Record constraints without weakening the idea
List limits that affect execution: product availability, location access, daylight, talent time, travel, safety, post-production or delivery formats. Then describe the chosen response. A good approval record shows how the creative intention survives those constraints.
Close with owners and open questions
Give each unresolved point an owner, required input and decision date. Approve the treatment together with this record so the production team can distinguish the fixed creative direction from the details still being developed.
